The Club Brugge ace is a reported transfer target for both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United.
A report emanating from Belgium today claims that Wolves are keen on scuppering Leeds’ hopes of signing Laurens De Bock, having entered the race for his signature, according to Belgian media outlet Voetbal Krant.
The 25-year-old Club Brugge defender has been attracting attention from a number of clubs this month, although the Whites were believed to be leading the race to sign the talented left-back, according to Belgian publication HLN.
Voetbal Krant claim that Nuno Espirito Santo is determined to win the race for De Bock, however, despite the fact that Leeds are still favourites for his signature.
Wolves are currently running away with the Championship, and the Portuguese’s reported desire to bring the Belgian full-back to Molineux is further evidence of their ambition.
De Bock would undoubtedly be able to assist the Black Country outfit in their quest for promotion, what with his extensive experience of playing at the very highest level with Club Brugge.
He has made 269 career appearances at the age of just 25, and has always showcased quality and composure in abundance.
Quite where De Bock will ends up remains to be seen, but Leeds’ hopes of bringing him to Elland Road now appear to have taken a blow following Wolves’ reported interest.
And with Nuno’s men currently topping the table, it could be argued that they will be a more attractive prospect than the Whites for the Belgian.
