Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly pursuing Jean-Clair Todibo.
According to La Depeche in France, Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both keen on signing Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo in 2019.
Toulouse lost star centre back Issa Diop to West Ham United over the summer, and whilst they managed to keep hold of Christopher Jullien in the face of Premier League interest, their defence undeniably took a major blow.
Surprisingly, Toulouse chose not to bring in another centre half to replace Diop, and instead did what worked so successfully for the now-West Ham star; promoting from within.
Young defender Todibo has stepped up to fill the void left by Diop, turning in some superb performances as the 18-year-old has quickly become a star in Ligue 1.
Now, the teenager is already attracting interest after just 10 Ligue games, with La Depeche reporting that Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to rival Liverpool for his signature.
Liverpool have one promising centre back already in Joe Gomez, but may feel that they can groom Todibo behind their more experienced defenders, such as Virgil van Dijk, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip.
Meanwhile, Wolves would look to use Todibo alongside fellow French defender Willy Boly in their three-man back line, and may see him as an eventual replacement for Ryan Bennett – but face a battle landing his signature.
