Rangers wanted Rashid Sumaila over the summer, but Wolverhampton Wanderers now appear to be plotting their move.

According to Ghana Soccernet, Wolverhampton Wanderers are lining up a January bid to sign Al Qadsia defender Rashid Sumaila, a recent target for Rangers.
Wolves brought in three centre backs over the summer, with Willy Boly, Roderick Miranda and Ryan Bennett all arriving at Molineux, but manager Nuno Espirito Santo may now look for another option at the back.
It’s claimed that Wolves want to launch a January move for Ghanaian international Rashid Sumaila, who has impressed in Kuwait with Al Qadsia.

The 24-year-old, who has six Ghana caps to his name, has returned to Al Qadsia following a loan spell with Al-Gharafa, and his performances appear to have attracted major interest from Wolves.
Could Caixinha make a new bid?
Sumaila’s name should be familiar to Rangers fans, given that the Gers wanted to sign Sumaila over the summer, but had to abandon the deal due to ‘unexpected complications’, as reported by the Daily Record.

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha worked with Sumaila at Al-Gharafa, and had hoped to reunite at Ibrox over the summer, meaning the Ghanaian ace may still be on his radar.
However, Caixinha did bring in two other centre backs over the summer in Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso, whilst Danny Wilson is still at the club, and Ross McCrorie has emerged as one of the top young talents at Ibrox.
Once a top target for Caixinha, the time for Sumaila to make the move to Rangers may now have passed, and that could put Wolves in pole position to land him in 2018.
