The wages of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ record signing differ to many of the players at the club.

Wolves stunned the football world this summer when they signed Ruben Neves from Porto paying £15.8 million to sign him.
It was a deal facilitated by agent Jorge Mendes, and a sign Wolves meant business with their bid to win promotion.
The Mail report Wolves are paying Neves a wage of £45,000 per week, more than five times the wage paid to fellow midfielder Conor Coady.

Despite this disparity, Wolves’ season has come together seamlessly so far, with new manager Nuno Santo doing a fantastic job.
Neves had been linked with big moves to Premier League sides before Wolves snapped him up, and played in the Champions League last season.

While many were waiting for him to struggle to adapt to the different style of the Championship, Neves has been an instant success.
He has helped Wolves to the top of the Championship where they are two points clear, and the wages they are paying the midfielder is a statement of intent.
