According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are now open to selling Dion Sanderson this week amid interest from EFL clubs.

It’s claimed that Cardiff City want to sign Sanderson again, having taken him on loan for the second half of last season.

Sheffield Wednesday are also keen, and Wolves are willing to either loan Sanderson out or sell him before Friday’s deadline.

Sanderson has less than a year left on his deal at Wolves, meaning the Premier League side may see this as a final chance to cash in.

Sanderson, 20, can play at centre back but really impressed as a right back at Cardiff last term, so it’s no great surprise that they want him back.

The Mail reported in August that Rangers were keen to sign Sanderson, but instead chose to sign Leon Balogun on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic.

With the international window closed, a move to Ibrox can’t materialise this week, leaving Championship clubs at the front of the queue.

Rangers’ best hope would be that Sanderson fails to win a move this week, meaning they can target Sanderson on a bargain pre-contract agreement in January – if they still fancy luring the Englishman to Glasgow, which they should given his talent and potential.
