Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to announce the £9 million signing of goalkeeper Jose Sa with Olympiakos set to bring in a replacement, as reported by Gazzetta.
Rui Patricio’s impending switch to Roma is about to spark a series of transfers all across Europe, a chain reaction beginning at Molineux and ending, well, who knows where.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, the experienced Portugal international will be saying his goodbyes to life in the Black Country by the end Sunday.
Roma are hoping to officially unveil Patricio at some point over the weekend.
And for all you Wolves fans out there, fretting about the impending departure of a man who has barely missed a game since joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2018, worry not.
Patricio’s successor is pretty much in the bag already, with Olympiakos having agreed to sell 28-year-old Sa in a deal worth an initial £9 million.
Is Jose Sa the right man to replace Rui Patricio at Wolves?
Sa, a Jorge Mendes client, is a goalkeeper in the Patricio mould; solid, reliable and excellent when it comes to commanding his penalty area.
The 6ft 4ins star, who has won three league titles during spells at Porto and Olympiakos, should have no problems adapting to life in the Premier League.

Gazzetta claims that deal has entered ‘the final straight’ – and do not be surprised if Patricio’s departure goes hand-in-hand with Sa’s arrival, a classic case ‘one in, one out’.
The report claims that Olympiakos will then look to land Marco Bizot from Eredivisie outfit AZ Alkmaar to fill a sizeable void between the sticks, with Czech Republic international Tomas Vaclik another option after an impressive Euro 2020 campaign.
Wolves had also been linked with Danny Ward, Sam Johnstone and Fiorentina’s Bartlomiej Dragowski, but it seems Sa will instead be bringing his Iberian inflection to an already Portuguese-heavy dressing room.
