According to A Bola, Santos teenager Kaio Jorge is now likely to sign for Wolverhampton Wanderers amid links to Arsenal.
Kaio, 19, has come up through the Santos ranks and has been compared to Ronaldo, Neymar, Lautaro Martinez and Andriy Shevchenko. No pressure then.
The teenager is unsurprisingly a wanted man, and it looks like he will be heading to Molineux in a shock move.
Kaio to Wolves
A Bola claim that Wolves have attempted to get ahead of the competition by making an offer of around €15million (£13million).
Kaio’s contract ends in December, but Santos will want a little more cash, demanding around €20million for his signature (£17million).
New boss Bruno Lage wanted Kaio at Benfica, who are still keen on the teenager, but Wolves are now expected to win the race.
What about Arsenal?
Back in March, Calciomercato reported that Arsenal were looking into a summer deal for Kaio, with Edu well aware of the top young talents in Brazil.
Gabriel Martinelli has been one success story from Edu and his recruitment in Brazil, and he may have viewed Kaio as a similar addition.
If he still wants Kaio, he will have to move quickly now as Wolves appear to be closing in on signing the teenager.
