Tomas Suslov is valued at just £3.5 million by Groningen as Wolverhampton Wanderers sniff around the Eredivisie starlet, according to Jeunes Footeaux.

Clearly, the 18-year-old Slovakia international still has a lot to learn.

Suslov might have been one of the Eredivisie’s breakthrough talents in 2021, establishing himself as a key player for a Groningen side dreaming of Europa League qualification, but consistency remains elusive.

Understandably so, perhaps, when you consider that Suslov only made his first-team debut in September.

The skillful schemer was subbed off at half-time as Groningen lost 2-0 at home to Frisian rivals Heerenveen on Sunday. But a disappointing display, admittedly during one of the biggest games of the season, should not take the sheen of a fine campaign for Suslov.

According to Slovakian publication Sport, Wolves have shown an interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Jeunes Footeaux backs up those claims, adding that Groningen are demanding £3.5 million for a player who the legendary Arjen Robben has taken under his wing at the Euroborg.

This week, Suslov’s agent stated that up to 15 clubs have expressed an interest, with Wolves and Ajax among them.

You can see why the runaway Eredivisie leaders would be keen, given their track record when it comes to unearthing diamonds in the rough.

The technically-gifted and creative Suslov has produced five assists during his maiden top-flight campaign.
