Report: Wolves make enquiry for Juventus striker Andrea Favilli

Favilli is one of Italy’s hottest prospects and Wolves are said to be keen.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers have made an enquiry for Juventus starlet Andrea Favilli, who is regarded as one of Italy’s biggest up-and-coming stars.

The 21-year-old is set to join Juventus this summer from Ascoli, after an excellent campaign with the Serie B side that saw Favilli score eight goals in 14 league and cup appearances – before rupturing his cruciate ligament.

A seven-time Italy Under-21 international, Favilli began his career at Livorno before being loaned to Juventus’s reserve side in 2015-16. However, he impressed so much that he was given a run out in the first team.

He made his Serie A debut in the 93rd minute of a 2-0 win against Frosinone in 2006, replacing Alvaro Morata. He rejoined Livorno before a loan at Ascoli in 2016-17, before earning a permanent move.

But Juventus like what they see and have decided to sign the powerful 6ft 3in striker, which sees Favilli officially become a Juve player on July 1. But Wolves have enquired to see if they can change that, in a move similar to Benik Afobe.

Afobe joined Wolves from Bournemouth, before immediately being sold to Stoke. Wolves are hoping for something similar concerning Favilli, who is valued at £17.7million by Juve.

Wolves have enquired via super agent Jorge Mendes, who has just helped Juve sign Joao Cancelo from Valencia. He could now strike another Juve deal, if Wolves are serious after making their enquiry.
