Wolverhampton Wanderers have made contact with Bournemouth about potentially signing Sunderland loanee Lewis Grabban in January.
Grabban has been in fine goalscoring form this term at the Stadium of Light. Despite the Black Cats’ desperate situation in the Championship, the 29-year-old has found the back of net on 11 occasions, meaning that only three players – including Wolves’ Leo Bonatini – has scored more often in the second tier.
However, it appears that he may not be available to Chris Coleman for much longer, with the Chronicle reporting that Bournemouth will be able to recall him next month should they decide to sell him – and it seems that they will have the offers on the table.
The Chronicle suggests that current Championship leaders Wolves have already been in contact with the Cherries about signing him permanently in the January as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men look to capitalise on their current position in the table.
The Chronicle adds that Sunderland will only have the funds to make their own bid if they sell some of their other players, which may perhaps be difficult given their current position in the second tier.
Wolves will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table when they face Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night, while Sunderland host Fulham on Saturday.
