According to Goal, Wolves have made contact to sign Shakhtar Donetsk forward Pedrinho, who is also a target for Everton.

What’s the story?

Well, this is big news for Wolves, but Everton will be worried.

It was Gazeta Esportiva who revealed that the Toffees are keen to sign the 23-year-old, who Bruno Lage is said to be a big fan of.

Goal believe Wolves have made the first move by contacting Shakhtar Donetsk, and the Molineux faithful wouldn’t even have to wait until the summer to see Pedrinho in action.

Due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, FIFA have allowed footballers in either country to join another side for free, but they must do so before April 7th.

Shakhtar Donetsk paid €18m (£15m) to sign the Brazil Under-23 international, who is also attracting interest from Corinthians and São Paulo.

So far this season, Pedrinho has scored four goals in 19 appearances, while also providing three assists.

Everton must hijack Wolves deal

In our view, we’re not sure why Everton haven’t made the first move, especially seeing as Pedrinho can play immediately.

The Toffees are firmly in a relegation battle, whereas Wolves are sitting comfortably on 40 points in eighth place.

Therefore, Everton are the ones in need of immediate help, not Wolves.

Frank Lampard has the Merseysiders sat just one point above the relegation zone, with just 13 Premier League games remaining.

Pedrinho is an exciting, versatile forward, who has played all across the frontline this season.

As things stand, Everton need all the help they can get, so it would be madness if they didn’t follow Wolves in making contact with Shakhtar Donetsk.
