According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a move to sign Atalanta striker Mauricio Pinilla.
Wolves are enjoying great success in the transfer market right now, as the likes of Prince Oniangue, Ola John, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have all arrived in recent weeks.

Yet, with just five days of the summer transfer window left to go, Wolves show no sign of slowing down, and now appear to be in the market for another striker.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Wolves have made an approach to Atalanta for strikre Mauricio Pinilla – but a deal looks far from straightforward.
Pinilla, 32, has endured a nomadic career to date, signing for the likes of Inter Milan, Sporting, Heart of Midlothian, Vasco da Gama, Palermo, Genoa and now Atalanta.

In recent years, Pinilla’s greatest successes have come with Grosseto, scoring 24 goals in 24 games for the Italian side, and then with Cagliari, where he hit 22 goals in 63 appearances.
Last season, Pinilla hit five goals in 20 games for Atalanta, and has allegedly asked to leave the Serie A club, with Wolves now moving to try and sign the striker, who has scored eight times in 43 caps for the Chilean national team.

However, Wolves not only face competition from clubs in Argentina and Brazil, but it’s also claimed that Pinilla would rather stay in Italy right now, having been settled there since 2009.
A strong centre forward with impressive aerial ability, Pinilla has been something of a hot head on the pitch and somewhat controversial off it, having got his penalty miss against Brazil at the 2010 World Cup tattooed on himself (The Independent), and would certainly be an interesting signing for Wolves – but whether they can tempt him to Molineux remains to be seen.
