Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a £15 million bid for AZ Alkmaar winger Oussama Idrissi, although the Premier League outfit will face competition from Sevilla and Napoli, according to El Desmarque.

Imagine if Arjen Robben was right-footed.

That will give you some idea of what to expect from a Morocco international who is making a career out of cutting inside from the left and whipping pinpoint shots into the far corner.

Idrissi was arguably the star man of a thrilling AZ side who, until the Dutch football season was cancelled in April, were battling Ajax for the title and sitting second in the Eredivisie table on goal-difference alone.

The former Groningen winger produced 17 goals and ten assists in all competitions, with right-backs all over Holland powerless to prevent Idrissi from weaving his magic in the final third.

In truth, it would be more of a surprise if Sevilla’s legendary director of football was not keeping tabs on a man who changed his international allegiance from Holland to Morocco.

Young, technically gifted and blessed with huge re-sale value, Idrissi is about as typically a ‘Monchi signing’ as it is possible to imagine.

El Desmarque reports that the Europa League champions will do battle with Napoli and a Wolves side who have offered £15 million for Idrissi’s signature.

The Bergen-born forward would replace Diogo Jota on the left-hand side of Nuno’s forward line.
