Wolves are expected to sign Diogo Goncalves from Benfica, Portuguese newspaper Record report.
Goncalves, 20, is expected back at pre-season with Benfica and will likely sign a season long loan deal afterwards, Record claim.
Wolves’ fans celebrate
Goncalves is a talented prospect who played regularly for Benfica B last season.
He scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 35 matches, and netted twice and made three assists in five UEFA Youth League games.
Goncalves is represented by Gestifute, the agency owned by super agent Jorge Mendes. He is currently under contract to Benfica until 2021.
The left winger has played for Portugal at every youth level up to and including the under-20s, where he has five goals in 12 appearances.
Wolves have had mixed success targeting players from Portugal over the past year, with Helder Costa the shining example Goncalves would look to emulate.
