French newspaper L’Equipe claim that Wolves have targeted Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile – joining Tottenham in the race for the French star. He has been branded the ‘new Raphael Varane’ in recent months.

Badiashile, 20, has become a regular for Monaco in recent season. At such a young age, he surpassed 100 appearances for the Ligue 1 side recently, with 104 under his belt now. He has a contract at Monaco until 2024.

The new report claims Wolves have entered the race to sign the France Under-21 star. Badiashile spoke in the summer of rejecting a move to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United, in an interview with RMC Sport.

Now, Premier League clubs are circling again. CalcioMercato said Antonio Conte is keen on Badiashile – branded the ‘new Varane’ by AS. Reports from France now suggest that Wolves have thrown their hat into the ring.

Badiashile has got to join Tottenham over Wolves, if Conte is keen

Alasdair Gold spoke about which areas Conte wants to improve in his latest YouTube episode – and confirmed a left-sided centre-back is ideal. Badiashile is that, a left-footed centre-back capable of playing on the left.

A move to Wolves would be a good one for Badiashile, but is it a move that is any better than playing for Monaco? Tottenham are a huge side and at 20, he has the potential to establish himself as a regular at Spurs under Conte.

If Tottenham are keen, that should be Badiashile’s first priority. But he seems happy at Monaco and the decision to reject Manchester United’s move in the summer is a surprising one.
