Wolverhampton Wanderers will reportedly look to make a major statement ahead of their return to the Premier League by rivalling Everton for Yaya Toure.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are gearing up for a top flight campaign after largely strolling to the Championship title – even after a final day thrashing at Sunderland, they still finished nine points clear – and appear to have some big plans.

Toure – who earns an eye-watering £220,000-a-week with the Cityzens – may have played more of a peripheral role under Pep Guardiola this term, but he is still a hugely talented player who would bring plenty of class and quality to most sides in the top flight.

The Mirror reports that the former Barcelona ace is keen to remain in the Premier League, so it will be interesting to see which club puts the most appealing offer in front of him.
Where should Toure go?
At Burnley, he could be playing in the Europa League next season and would probably be a focal point of the side, as he would likely be at Wolves who surely need to add some further top flight experience despite their wonderful campaign.
Everton meanwhile, may be the safest bet if Toure hopes to finish his career in England on a high. The Toffees have endured a very underwhelming year this term, but still remain on course for a top-eight finish, which arguably says a lot about their potential when everything clicks into place.
