Raul Jimenez has three goals to his name, while at two apiece, Ivan Cavaleiro and Ruben Neves are the only other players to have scored more than once in all competitions.
As a result, Wolves have been linked with several forward players in the upcoming transfer window, such as Liverpool striker Divock Origi.
The latest name to be linked with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side is Senegal international Keita Balde Diao.
A graduate of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Balde’s preferred position is on the left wing but he can play across the entire forward line.
The 23-year-old made his name at Lazio after leaving Camp Nou in 2011 before switching to Monaco six years later.
Balde then moved to Inter Milan this summer on a loan deal with an option to buy but he has struggled at the Italian club so far, failing to score in 13 appearances.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Nerazzurri are interested in letting Balde return to Monaco in January, after which Wolves may step in with a bid.
The report states that the 2016/17 Ligue 1 champions are ideally seeking someone who will take Balde off the wage bill and take over his €5million (around £4.5million) loan bill.
Given his obvious talents, young age, World Cup experience and prior exploits at Lazio, Balde may seem a suitable fit for Wolves at first glance.
However, given he has averaged a goal every five games or so throughout his senior career so far, would he be seen as too big a gamble for a newly promoted club lacking in firepower?
