According to talkSPORT (via Leicester Mercury 15:02), Wolves are looking at a move for Hamza Choudhury after facing difficulties in signing Renato Sanches.

What’s the story?

Well, Bruno Lage’s side were in talks with Lille over a deal for Sanches at the start of deadline day.

However, Sky Sports believe Wolves have now ended talks with the Portugal international, after failing to agree terms on a loan deal.

Now, the Old Gold could move onto a deal for Choudhury, who has been told he can leave by Leicester.

Brendan Rodgers hasn’t given the £7,500-a-week man a single second of football so far this season, as he’s surplus to requirements.

The 23-year-old was also given just ten starts in the Premier League last season, so he’s far from a key player for the Foxes.

If Wolves are to sign the England Under-21 international, they’ll have to fend off interest from Newcastle.

It was the Daily Mail who recently claimed that Steve Bruce is desperate to sign Choudhury, having missed out on the Leicester No.20 in January.

In our view, Wolves have a much greater chance of completing this deal after their Sanches negotiations collapsed.

The Magpies are, in our view, at risk of relegation given their concerning lack of investment, and the fact Bruce remains in charge.

In the case of Wolves, Lage has the Midlanders playing some attractive football, and is in charge of a far more attractive club right now.

Of course, Newcastle have the history, but we’re not sure that will be enough to sway Choudhury if it came down to a two-club choice.
