A close aid of Jorge Mendes has reportedly flown to England to discuss a potential move for Benfica’s Joao Carvalho – with Wolves supposedly interested.

Wolves have made great use of their connections with super-agent Jorge Mendes in the last year.
As it stands, the Midland giants are flying high at the top of the Championship with Mendes clients Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves and Helder Costa starring on the pitch while Nuno Espirito Santo orchestrates from the dugout.
And another player with connections to arguably football’s most powerful agent could be the latest to join Wolves’ star-studded squad in the New Year.

And the report claims that, somewhat inevitably, Wolves are interested in signing the 20-year-old. It is understood that Carvalho has a £55 million release clause in his contract but is certain to be available at far less.
The Portuguese Under-21 ace has not yet made his senior debut for Benfica’s first-team but has impressed in the reserve side in the last two years. Though Carvalho did score an equalising goal against FC Porto at the Estadio do Dragao during a loan spell at Vitoria Guimaraes last season.

Renowned for his creativity and dribbling ability, Carvalho would add another dash of flair and excitement to a Wolves squad that is hardly short of quality going forward.
He also stands to become the eighth Portuguese player in Wolves’ current roster.
