According to Sky Sports, Wolves are interested in signing Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car, who is also a target for Newcastle.
What’s the story?
Well, Sky Sports believe Wolves are eyeing Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile, although Caleta-Car is also on their shortlist.
Elsewhere, it was The Telegraph who revealed Newcastle are keen on signing the Croatia international, who Marseille paid €19m (£15.8m) for.
Sky Sports believe Caleta-Car is on the market this month, so a January exit from France cannot be ruled out at this stage.
They add that Newcastle also want Badiashile, so it could be a case of Wolves signing one, and the Magpies signing another of these two Ligue 1 centre-backs.
So far this season, Caleta-Car has made 13 appearances in all competitions.
The 25-year-old has a contract until June 2023, so if Marseille do not sell him in 2022, they risk losing him for nothing.
What could Duje Caleta-Car bring to Wolves or Newcastle?

Well, the Marseille No.15 is a superb passer of the ball – he often finds his teammates out on the flanks with excellent, long-range pings.
You can see a few examples of his brilliant technical ability below.
Interestingly, Caleta-Car has also compared himself to Barcelona and Spain icon Gerard Pique (La Provence).
Back in January 2021, Liverpool even agreed a deal with Marseille for Caleta-Car, although the French side withdrew from the deal after failing to sign a replacement (Sky Sports).

Clearly, the towering defender must have something special if Jürgen Klopp wanted to add him to his Premier League winning side.
Keep an eye on this saga, as it’s highly likely that Caleta-Car leaves Marseille this winter.
