Wolverhampton Wanderers are hoping to speak to Sam Allardyce about the possibility of the former England boss becoming the man to succeed Walter Zenga at Molineux, The Sun reports.
The Championship side parted company with the 56-year-old shortly after their narrow defeat to Leeds last weekend, and their ambitious owners appear to have set their sights high as they look for his replacement.

The Sun reports that the club’s owner Fosun want to talk with Allardyce in the hope that they can convince him to drop into the second tier just months after he was appointed as the new boss of the national team.
While it may appear to be an uphill task for Wolves, The Sun claims that the owners want to see the side back in the Premier League as soon as possible, so it would hardly be a surprise if they backed a manager with Allardyce’s experience with more than enough funds to give them the best chance of promotion.

And with the 62-year-old growing up not far away from the club, he may relish the opportunity to try and take them back to the top flight.
However, if Allardyce does take the job, he faces an difficult task trying to take them towards the promotion picture. Wolves sit 18th in the table, and already find themselves seven points adrift of the top six.
