Jordan Graham and Sylvain Deslandes have reportedly been given new contracts at Wolves – but only so they can be sold to make money.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have made the somewhat surprising decision to give new contracts to fringe players Sylvain Deslandes and Jordan Graham.
The Express and Star reports that options to extend Deslandes’ deal until 2019 and Graham’s until 2020 have been triggered despite them making just three first appearances each for the club this season.
It would be fair to assume that with Wolves having now earned promotion to the Premier League after winning the Championship title, the duo’s game time is likely to be even less in 2018/19.
However, the report goes on to say that the West Midlands side have simply extended their stay in order to make money from sales this summer.
Graham arrived at Molineux from Aston Villa permanently in 2015 after a loan spell, but his time at the club has been disrupted by injury and the 23-year-old featured once in the league for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this term and twice more in the EFL Cup.
Deslandes also played twice in the EFL Cup, before making two further appearances in League One after joining Portsmouth on loan in January.
