Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly plotting a move for Sheffield Wednesday star Adam Reach in January.
The 25-year-old – who arrived at Hillsborough for £5 million (via Gazette Live) – has certainly been one of the Owls’ most important players this term, scoring four and providing two assists. He has caught the attention lately after a string of stunning goals.
His outrageous strike against Leeds was followed by a similarly brilliant goal in the draw with West Brom, and he was at it again in the defeat to former club Middlesbrough on Friday night.
And it may have perhaps been the latest run of goals that made Wolves’ mind up that they will make a move for the midfielder. The Sun reports that Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on signing Reach in January having had him watched several times recently.
It is not the first time that Wolves have been linked with Reach. The Express and Star reported in June 2016 – around a year before Nuno arrived at Molineux – that Wolves were keen on signing him on loan, but Boro wanted at least £2 million.
Wednesday will surely want a significantly greater amount if they are going to sell Reach in January, especially given some of the fees that Wolves have spent since the start of last season.
But given Reach’s current form and the versatility that he provides, it would be no surprise if Wolves decided that he would be worth pursuing regardless of Wednesday’s asking price when the window opens.
