According to Calciomercato, Wolves are interested in signing Vejle Boldklub wonderkid Wahid Faghir, while Ajax are also keen.

The 17-year-old has burst onto the scene with the Danish side, scoring five goals in 19 Superligaen appearances this season.

Impressively, the 2003-born frontman earned his chance after scoring nine goals in 15 games for the club’s Under-23 side, along with three assists.

Calciomercato describe the teenager as ‘physically strong’ and also a player who is ‘cold’ in front of goal.

Within the article, he’s even likened to Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic!

Such is his vast potential, UEFA even named Faghir on their list of 50 talents to look out for. They also compared him to Ibrahimovic, and said he ‘finishes with power and quality’ in front of goal.

The youngster’s name is already well known to another Premier League club in the Midlands.

Calciomercato‘s article mentioned that Leicester submitted a €1 million (£864,000) bid to sign Faghir in January, although they were unsuccessful with their offer.

The 2-cap Denmark Under-18 international certainly seems like a potential star of the future, so the two Midlands outfits shouldn’t give up their pursuit.

In a pandemic-hit market, Vejle Boldklub might have to sell their prized asset for less than they’d like, in our view.
