Wolverhampton Wanderers want to secure the bargain signing of Kenan Karaman with the striker keen to leave Fortuna Dusseldorf in 2021, as reported by Fussbal Transfers.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have played two full games now without the recuperating Raul Jimenez. In that time, they have scored a grand total of zero goals.
Aston Villa had goalkeeper Emi Martinez to thank for a Man of the Match performance in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Molineux, and it is hard to imagine that Wolves would not have claimed at least a point if their totemic Mexican had been fit to feature in the Midlands derby.
Fabio Silva impressed against Villa, hitting the post with an intuitive second-half effort. But the January window offers a well-timed opportunity for Wolves to ease the burden on an 18-year-old still adapting to life in England.
Maxi Gomez and ex-Newcastle United targetman Salomon Rondon have already been linked.
Reports in Germany, however, suggest 26-year-old Turkey international Karaman is another option – a cheap one too.
The former Hoffenheim and Hannover forward will be a free agent at the end of the season and, after suffering relegation from the Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf last term, the rangy, 6ft 3ins forward is open to offers.

“My contract expires in 2021. I will be able to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, but some teams are already interested and have contacted my agent (ahead of the January window),” Karaman said recently, via BuliNews.
“I can’t say that Dusseldorf have helped me so far. To be honest, they don’t have very logical expectations for a transfer. My chances of a transfer can only improve if they bring their demands to a reasonable level, because I don’t believe they are in line with the market conditions.
“All I can say is that my deal expires (next summer), and I can meet with other clubs and sign a new contract (in January).”
A versatile forward who can also play out wide and carry the ball effectively from one end to another, Karaman scored six Bundesliga goals for a relegated team last season.
