Liverpool may be backing away from Matheus Nunes but that’s absolutely perfect news for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Reds need to bring in a new midfielder or two this summer as Jurgen Klopp chases reinforcements.
Liverpool already appear to have backed away from Jude Bellingham and the same goes for Matheus Nunes.
The Telegraph reported in January that Liverpool had a commitment in place to sign Nunes in a £44million deal this summer.
However, The Telegraph claimed earlier this month Wolves have removed a clause that would have facilitated the move.
Wolves were prepared to hike up their price tag and Liverpool decided Nunes was no longer the right man for them, scrapping a summer move.
This whole situation sounded very strange, as it’s peculiar that Liverpool seemingly had a clause in Nunes joining Wolves from Sporting.
Regardless, it now seems that Nunes is staying at Wolves this summer and Julen Lopetegui’s men couldn’t be more excited.

Wolves expect big season from Matheus Nunes next term
The Telegraph now suggest that Wolves are willing to sell Ruben Neves this summer in part because of Nunes.
It’s claimed that Wolves have real optimism that Nunes is going to be even better next season.
Wolves allegedly believe that Nunes will ultimately kick on in his development having been through a full season of English football.
Nunes has really started to impress in recent weeks and scored a stunning goal against Chelsea earlier this month.
Nunes has also missed just nine minutes in the last four games, highlighting his importance to Lopetegui after an up-and-down season.
The 24-year-old has been impressive on the ball in recent games, racking up 11 successful dribbles across his last four outings.
Nunes also recorded four key passes against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, showing off his creative ability.
Liverpool seemingly won’t be buying Nunes this summer, but they may well keep tabs on him as Wolves expect big things.
