The 32-year-old is yet to play for the Championship side since making his move permanent.
Wolves defender Mike Williamson
The Express and Star are reporting that Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Mike Williamson has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury and is now set to be out until the new year.
The centre-back has not played for Wolves since making a permanent move to Molineux during the winter window last season.
Williamson, during his time with Newcastle
And the Express and Star suggest that he will end up being on the club’s books for a year before he gets to make his debut after having to undergo an operation to remove some floating bone in his leg that will keep him sidelined until at least January.
The news is likely to be a big blow to Walter Zenga’s men. A series of long-term injuries cost the side any chance of mounting a serious promotion push under his predecessor Kenny Jackett last season, and it appears that the Italian will have to contend with the same issues during his tenure.

The Express and Star adds that Jordan Graham and Michal Zyro will both miss large parts of the campaign – the latter is set to be out until April – and with no loan window to help them out, Zenga would have been hoping that Williamson could have provided him with some good news.
However, the former Newcastle man’s torrid spell looks set to continue, and with his contract expiring at the end of the season (via Express and Star), anymore setbacks could mean that the 32-year-old leaves the club without ever making his second debut.
