Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly inching ever closer to signing the Wolverhampton Wanderers man.

According to a report from Sky Sports (live transfer blog, January 31st, 18:47) Wolves ace Dominic Iorfa is having a medical at Sheffield Wednesday, ahead of his proposed move to Hillsborough.

The Star reported earlier that the Owls were interested in signing the 23-year-old on a permanent deal, and that seems to have progressed somewhat over the past couple of hours.

Sky Sports (live transfer blog, January 31st, 18:47) now claim that Iorfa is undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed switch to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Southend-born ace is a right-back by trade, but he can also operate at centre-back.

If he does eventually sign for Wednesday, he will an extremely useful addition to Steve Bruce’s side, given his versatility.

A move away from Molineux will also be beneficial to Iorfa himself, as he looks to secure more regular first-team football.

And Bruce will be hoping that he brings more stability to his fragile back-line at Sheffield Wednesday.
