Wolverhampton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town are said to have made their interest known in Traore, who can leave Middlesbrough for £18 million.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering triggering the release clause in Adama Traore’s contract as they look to beat Huddersfield Town to the Middlesbrough winger’s signature, according to the Independent.
Traore is said to be seen as a rough diamond by both Wolves and Huddersfield, who scored five goals and assisted 10 in 40 games for Middlesbrough last season.
And the Independent states that while Boro have no desire to sell the Barcelona academy product, they will be left with no choice should an offer arrive matching his £18 million buy-out.
Cavaleiro alternative?
Interestingly, Huddersfield are one of the clubs being credited with interest in Wolves winger Ivan Cavaleiro, whose name is not mentioned in the newspaper report.
And it possible Traore’s future could have a bearing on that of Cavaleiro.
Traore moved to Middlesbrough in 2016 – a year after Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa brought him to England from Barcelona.
