Wolverhampton Wanderers have included Crystal Palace forward Bakary Sako on their list of summer transfer targets.
Bakary Sako celebrates scoring
A report from the Express and Star has suggested that Wolves have included former striker Bakary Sako on their list of summer targets, but have a number of players in front of the 28-year-old on that list.
Sako spent around three years at Molineux before departing to join Crystal Palace on a free transfer when his contract expired in 2015.
The Express and Star reports that the Mali international is likely to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season after an difficult spell with the Eagles, and Wolves are considering the possibility of bringing him back.
However, a permanent move is almost out of the question entirely, according to the Express and Star, due to Wolves not wanting to spend big money on a player who will turn 30 next April, as well as the fact that he has earned £55,000 a week with Crystal Palace – around three times more than what Wolves were paying him during his previous spell with the club.
The Express and Star adds that a loan deal may be possible, but the Championship club has a number of younger targets ahead of Sako that they plan to pursue first.

While Sako’s time in the top flight has not exactly gone to plan, he would surely be a popular addition to the Wolves squad, given the contribution he made during his first spell, as well as the relationship he enjoys with the fans.
The 28-year-old scored 36 goals in 118 league games during a time when the club was trying to re-establish themselves in the second tier and suffered a surprise relegation to League One, and a similar sort of goals return – if he did come back – would surely be most welcome given that Paul Lambert’s men have flirted with relegation a little too much this term, and are not completely out of the woods just yet.
