According to a report from the Daily Mail, Wolves are interested in signing Argentina international Walter Kannemann this summer, with Gremio willing to sell the centre-back for £10.2 million.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are preparing for their second campaign in the Premier League. Their first season was a huge success, and they now have Europa League football to look forward to during the coming year.

The club have been busy during the opening weeks of the window, but they have predominantly dealt with players leaving Molineux. But perhaps that may be about to change.

The Daily Mail reports that Kannemann finds himself on Wolves’ radar and is available for just over £10 million. It is noted that he has previously attracted attention from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid and has an Italian passport.

Wolves are no strangers to making statements in the transfer market, and landing Kannemann would certainly be a statement from Nuno’s men. He has five caps for his country and enjoyed plenty of success at Gremio, winning the Copa Libertadores in 2017 three years after winning the same competition with San Lorenzo.

The 28-year-old may only have a few more years left at his peak. But at that price, it looks as though it could be an inspired piece of business for Wolves to get Kannemann through the Molineux door this summer.
