Report: Wolves can sign January target Beijmo for fee between £1.7m and £2.1m

Wolves reportedly held talks with Swedish side Djurgarden in January over a move for Felix Beijmo.

Swedish outlet FotbalDirekt claim Djurgarden youngster Felix Beijmo will be allowed to leave his current side for a fee between £1.7million and £2.1million, after Wolves’ reported interest back in January.

Newspaper Expressen claimed that Wolves had held intensive talks with the Swedish side over a move for the 20-year-old, but decided not to continue with talks in the final hours of the transfer window.

Now, it has been made clear how much newly-promoted Wolves would have to pay to land the highly-rated Beijmo, who has impressed for the Swedish side this season from the right side of defence.

A six-time Sweden international, Beijmo has a contract with the top-flight outfit until the winter of 2020, but a move to the Premier League will surely tempt the defender into a move.

Now, with a price in the public domain, Wolves know just how much they will need to spend to land the young defender and with owners Fosun renowned for their deep pockets – a fee between £1.7m and £2.1m is hardly going to burn a hole.

It remains to be seen if Wolves will indeed look to land Beijmo, though he could be brought in to act as back-up to the impressive Matt Doherty at right-back.
