Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on Inter Milan’s Joao Mario.

According to Calcio Mercato Web in Italy, Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of four Premier League clubs interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario in January.
Wolves have enjoyed a fine start to life in the Premier League, and will be looking for a couple of key additions to their side in January in order to try and chase a top ten finish – or even look to sneak into Europe.
There’s a strong Portuguese flavour at Molineux, starting with manager Nuno Espirito Santo and all the way through the team with Rui Patricio, Ruben Vinagre, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Ivan Cavaleiro, Helder Costa and Diogo Jota.
Thanks to the input of super-agent Jorge Mendes, Wolves have been able to bring in some top Portuguese talent over the last few years – and another player is being linked with a move to Molineux.
Calcio Mercato Web today report that Wolves are one of four Premier League clubs interested in signing Inter Milan’s Joao Mario, with Fulham, Leicester City and Southampton also in the race.
Mario, 25, joined Inter for £36million from Sporting in 2016 (Daily Mail), but struggled for playing time under Luciano Spalletti last season, and spent the second half of the campaign on loan at West Ham United.

Many expected the playmaker to be sold, and he hasn’t yet played a competitive game for Inter this season, meaning he desperately needs a move away in January in order to get his career back on track.
Football Italia noted over the summer that Wolves were working with Mendes to try and secure a deal for Mario, and they may well call upon those links to strike a January agreement for the midfield, with the presence of Mendes potentially giving them an advantage over the other interested Premier League clubs.
