Wolverhampton Wanderers could turn to the Leicester City and Chelsea players after missing out on Oleksandr Zinchenko.
According to the Daily Mail’s live blog (13:48), Wolverhampton Wanderers have asked about Leicester City’s Danny Simpson as they attempt to add to their full-back options ahead of Thursday’s 5pm transfer deadline – with Chelsea’s Victor Moses also mentioned as a possible target.
Wolves’ £16 million move for Oleksandr Zinchenko is said to have collapsed, leaving the newly-promoted side scrambling for last-minute reinforcements.
And the Daily Mail adds that Leicester are open to selling or loaning Simpson, who was a key member of the Foxes side crowned Premier League champions two years ago, after bringing in Porto’s Ricardo Pereira.
The newspaper also notes how Simpson would count towards Wolves’ homegrown quota, which is significant given the high number of overseas players currently on the books at Molineux.
And despite being capped by Nigeria, the same applies to Moses, who was trained by Crystal Palace before moves to Wigan Athletic and Chelsea.
Wolves sold left-back Barry Douglas to Leeds United earlier in the window, leaving Matt Docherty, Johnny Castro and Ruben Vinagre as likely options on either side.
