Martins only just joined Atletico Madrid in the summer, but Wolves could look to lure him to Molineux.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers could make a move for Atletico Madrid winger Gelson Martins, just hours after Newcastle United were linked with a move.
Newspaper AS had claimed that Newcastle were willing to meet the demands of Atletico for 23-year-old Martins, which would see The Toon have to spend upto £4.4million to take him on loan until the end of the season.
But the latest report suggests Wolves and indeed Arsenal could scupper Newcastle’s move for the 21-time Portugal international, who only joined Atletico in the summer.
He was one of the players desperate to leave Sporting Lisbon after a break-in at the club’s training ground by angry fans. It also saw Rui Patricio join Wolves and William Carvalho move to Real Betis.
Martins scored 13 goals and created 13 more last season, but he has made just 12 appearances in all competitions this time around. He is certainly way down the pecking order under Diego Simeone.

The Portuguese star’s agent is Jorge Mendes who has strong connections with Wolves, while the Midlands club have plenty of Portuguese talent at the club in Patricio, Ivan Cavaleiro, Ruben Neves, Helder Costa, Diogo Jota, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Vinagre.
The report also claims Thierry Henry’s AS Monaco, AC Milan and Besiktas could become interested.
