According to TVI24, Wolves have made an approach for Carlos Vinícius, who has impressed while on loan at Tottenham this season.
The report claims that Wolves previously made an offer worth €60 million (£52 million) before the start of the global pandemic.
Now, with finances dented by COVID-19, Wolves are unlikely to go beyond €30 million (£26 million) in their fresh approach, according to TVI24.
However, the Brazilian’s future is firmly in Tottenham’s hands.
As part of the terms involved in the loan deal, Spurs have an option to buy Vinícius for £36 million, according to Sky Sports.
If José Mourinho’s side choose to activate that clause, Wolves don’t have a say in proceedings at all – they will simply lose out.

However, if Nuno Espirito Santo can bring the South American to Molineux, it would be an excellent signing – in our view.
Despite limited game-time as Harry Kane’s understudy, Vinícius has impressed with ten goals in 24 appearances.
His work rate and passion have endeared him to supporters, and also Mourinho who called the striker ‘very hard working’ after the 4-1 win over Wolfsberger.

Football London quote him as saying: “Vinicius is a very hard-working guy, always ready to help the team when we need.”
In our view, a move to Wolves would fit Vinícius well.
Wolves had plenty of Portuguese-speaking players like the 26-year-old, as well as a Portuguese manager who should be able to make the Brazilian feel at home.
