Reported Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United target Alhassan Yusuf will be available for as little as £1.8 million this summer with GT reporting that IFK Goteborg are under pressure to raise funds via player sales.
At the age of 19, this all-action dynamo who charges around the pitch like an espresso-powered Duracell bunny is arguably the most influential midfielder in Swedish football already.
And a Wolves side who have made a habit out of snapping up little known youngsters from Europe have had their sights firmly fixed on Yusuf since the middle of last year.
Speaking to Aftonbladet in 2019, Sweden’s Young Player of the Year admitted that he was flattered to catch the eye of one of Europe’s most upwardly mobile football clubs.
“(Interest from Wolves) is huge for me,” he beamed. “If I get that chance, yes (I will move). It would be a good opportunity.”
That chance could be arriving sooner rather than later.
Score Nigeria reported earlier this month that Wolves are set to firm up their interest with an official bid.

With work permit problems potentially tying up a deal in red tape, it is claimed that Wolves could loan Yusuf out to Grasshoppers until he is allowed to bring his never-say-die attitude to Molineux.
Sheffield United are interested too and, given Chris Wilder’s remarkable track record when it comes to helping young players realise their potential, it’s fair to say Yusuf is spoiled for choice.
GT claims that the teen sensation could be available for £1.8 million this summer, with his price-tag falling substantially in an era of unprecedented financial uncertainty.
