Report: Leeds star Kemar Roofe wanted by Wolves and Crystal Palace

Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe is reportedly attracting the attention of three Premier League sides, including Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to a report from The Sunday Mirror (04/11; page 66), Kemar Roofe is being monitored by Wolves, Crystal Palace and Southampton amid the news that Leeds have stalled on a new deal for the striker.

Roofe has made a brilliant start to the season, with six goals coming in nine Championship appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. He has contributed two assists as he finally enjoys a run as the side’s first-choice striker.

Leeds had been looking to extend the 25-year-old’s contract at Elland Road as his current deal heads towards its final 18 months. However, The Mirror reports that talks are stalling – and that has caught the attention of three Premier League sides.

The Sunday Mirror (04/11; page 66) reports that Wolves, Palace and the Saints have their eye on signing a new striker and Roofe is a player who is on their radars.

Leeds need to get Roofe tied down

Roofe may not have enjoyed the most consistent spell since joining Leeds in a deal worth around £3 million, according to BBC Sport. But he is now proving why the club made him one of their most expensive additions since they fell out of the top flight.

He scored 11 goals in the league last term – despite spending the majority of the year behind Pierre-Michel Lasogga in the striker pecking order – and is well on his way to passing that tally this season.

Leeds now need to look to make a major statement and convince Roofe to put pen to paper on fresh terms. It would send a big message out if they keep the forward while there are Premier League sides lurking in the background.
