Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley reportedly want Dundee’s Glen Kamara.
Glen Kamara was one of the best young midfielders in the Scottish Premiership last season, and there was no surprise when The Sun reported in April of interest from Celtic and Rangers in the Dundee star.
Kamara, who joined Dundee in the summer of 2017 on a free transfer after leaving Arsenal, made 37 appearances in the Scottish Premiership during the 2017-18 campaign, providing two assists in the process, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The Finland international’s performances in Scotland did not (reportedly) impress just Rangers and Celtic, but they seem to have also attracted the attention of two clubs in the Premier League.
It has been reported that Wolves, who won promotion from the Championship last season, and Burnley are leading the chase for the youngster.
Risky signing for Wolves and Burnley?
Kamara is a very talented and promising young midfielder, but being a success in the Scottish Premiership does not necessarily mean that he will be a hit in the Premier League.
Even though the Finland international is 22 years of age, it will be risky for Wolves or Burnley to sign him this summer, especially as they will have to pay a transfer fee to Dundee.
The midfielder himself should think twice about moving to Wolves or Burnley, as it is very unlikely that he will get the chance to play regularly next season for either club.
Praise for Wolves duo
Meanwhile, Wolves defender Danny Batth has praised the signings of Portugal international goalkeeper Rui Patricio and Benfica striker Raul Jimenez in the summer transfer window.
Batth told The Express & Star: “I think it’s a great marker for the club. Myself and every other Wolves fan will be very happy with those two signings.
“Hopefully they integrate with the group, the same as last year when the players we signed bed straight in and really add to what we’ve got.”
