Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a deal to sign Estoril defender Tote Gomes on a five-year contract, according to Record.
It’s no secret Wolves are in the market for a new left-back after losing Jonny Castro Otto to a long-term injury.
But while 21-year-old Gomes is set to put pen to paper on a contract until 2025 at Molineux, the former Portugal U20 international is more of a signing for the future than a short-term solution.
Record claims the Estoril starlet has agreed a move to Wolves but is expected to spend the upcoming season on loan at Grasshoppers Zurich, the Swiss outfit recently taken over by the wife of Wolves owner Guo Guangchang.
Renat Dadashov and Connor Ronan are already on loan at Grasshoppers from the Europa League quarter-finalists.
Gomes has yet to establish himself in Estoril’s first-team squad, making all his appearances last season in the club’s U23 side.

But Wolves obviously see something special in him as he prepares to become the latest Portuguese footballer to join an already Iberian-infused squad.
Wolves are also expected to sign a more experienced left-back as cover for Jonny with Alfredo Pedulla reporting talks have taken place with Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam.
