According to The Athletic, Porto boss Sergio Conceicao is out of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ reach in their search for a new manager.
Wolves have already confirmed that Nuno Espirito Santo is leaving the club after today’s game against Manchester United, bringing an end to four years at the club.
Nuno has overseen Wolves’ rise in recent years, but a replacement will now be needed – and another Portuguese boss is widely expected to come in.
Bruno Lage and Paulo Fonseca have both been suggested, but what about the man who ironically replaced Nuno at Porto in 2017, Sergio Conceicao?
It’s stated that Wolves admire Conceicao and would like him at Molineux, but he is simply out of their reach.
The 46-year-old was a notable winger in his playing days with Lazio, Parma and Inter Milan, but he’s really excelling as a manager.

Across spells with Olhanense, Academica, Braga, Vitoria Guimaraes, Nantes and now Porto, the 46-year-old has won 225 of his 393 games in management according to Transfermarkt – around 65% of his games.
Conceicao has won two league titles at Porto and guided them into the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season, but seemingly won’t be heading to Wolves this summer.
