Wolves are said to be willing to pay the midfielder’s £100,000 compensation fee.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are weighing up a move for Aberdeen midfielder Terry Taylor, according to The Scottish Sun.

The 16-year-old would reportedly cost over £100,000 in compensation – a figure it is claimed Wolves are willing to meet.

Taylor is yet to appear for Aberdeen’s first team, but made his debut for the Dons’ Under-20s last year aged only 14, and was, the season before last, voted the club’s Under-16s player of the year.

After his Under-20s bow, his manager Paul Sheerin, a former Aberdeen midfielder himself, told the Evening Express: “It was great to see a 14-year-old do as well as Terry did at that level. He looks like a footballer.

“That may sound daft, but it’s the best way to describe Terry,” he said.

Taylor recently pledged his international allegiance to Wales, for whom he qualifies through his mother, despite Scotland’s advances, having captained the Dragons at Under-15 level.

Wolves signed another Scottish-born player during last summer’s transfer window in Jack Ruddy, although the goalkeeper is yet to feature for his current employers at senior level.

The 19-year-old had been on Rangers’ books as a youngster, but spent his teenage years in Spain before returning to the UK with Bury.
