Wolverhampton Wanderers only want the Sheffield Wednesday forward on a temporary deal.

According to a report in the Express and Star Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday’s Jordan Rhodes, but would prefer him on loan.

Wolves are looking for a new striker to lead the line and complete Nuno’s squad.

The Express and Star suggest that Wolves have a big budget to spend on a new number nine, but Rhodes is a name on their wishlist.

The Wednesday man has struggled since moving to Hillsborough, but has previously been a prolific scorer at Championship level.

The Owls are believed to be wiling to sell Rhodes, should an acceptable offer come in for the Scottish international.

However, Wolves are hopeful of bringing the former Huddersfield Town man in on a temporary spell.

Nuno would rather see if he can get Rhodes back to his best this season, rather than commit to buying him for the long-term.

Wolves have been one of the stand out teams in the Championship so far, winning all three of their opening league games.
