Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached a total agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal over the transfer of Rui Patricio, according to Record.
Patricio joined Wolves earlier in the summer after rescinding his contract with the Portuguese giants along with several of his then-teammates, and has already played eight times for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.
But Record reports Wolves have now agreed to pay a fee to Sporting – reported to be around €18 million (£15.8 million) – after the legality of the goalkeeper’s transfer was called into question.
It is claimed the Sporting president Frederico Varandas travelled to London earlier this week to finalise the deal.
Wolves are reported to have paid between £18 million and £22 million to sign the winger Adama Traore from Middlesbrough in the summer, breaking their previous club record, thought to be around £15 million for Ruben Neves, Patricio’s Portugal teammate.
