Wolverhampton Wanderers are being credited with interest in Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen, who was linked with an £18 million move to Everton earlier this year.
The Mirror reports (Wednesday printed edition, page 48) Wolves are looking at Jorgensen as they ‘try to bolster their attacking options’.
The Danish international scored 21 goals to fire Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season – his first at De Kuip – and has three in 11 outings this term.
Wolves top the Championship despite allowing Nouha Dicko to leave without securing a replacement in the final days of the summer transfer window, and the addition of a regular goalscorer to compete with Leo Bonatini would leave them well armed for the second half of this campaign – and beyond.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were thwarted in their attempt to sign another Dutch-based striker, PSV Eindhoven’s Jurgen Locadia, in August, and will hope to fare better with Jorgensen.
Danish publication, BT, suggested in June that Everton were readying an £18 million offer for the 26-year-old, who is under contract until 2021.
