It is claimed that Derby County have no say on the future of the striker they loaned to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January.
Wolves’ Andi Weimann scores
Wolverhampton Wanderers have a deal in place to sign Derby County loanee Andreas Weimann for £1.5 million, report the Express & Star.
Weimann has scored three goals since his January move to Wolves, two of which have arrived in the last week to hoist his temporary employers away from any immediate threat of relegation.
It is claimed, however, that Wolves will wait until the summer before deciding whether or not to exercise their option on the Austrian, who played under manager Paul Lambert at Aston Villa.
Weimann’s Pride Park exit was sanctioned by previous Derby boss Steve McClaren, who was replaced by Gary Rowett last week.
However, the Express & Star report that Rowett will have no say in the 25-year-old’s future, unless Wolves decide against a permanent deal first.

Derby are said to have paid £2.5 million for Weimann two summers ago, but the former Rapid Vienna youngster has repaid them with only four goals in 46 appearances.
Should Wolverhampton Wanderers take up their option to sign Weimann from Derby County on a permanent basis?
