The Barnsley defender has drawn a string of admirers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have exceeded Sunderland’s offer for Barnsley defender Alfie Mawson, according to Wednesday’s Sun newspaper (page 51).
The 22-year-old has attracted a string of admirers after helping the Tykes into the Championship last season and off to a good start.
His fine form has, the report claims, already drawn a £3 million bid from Premier League Sunderland, although ambitious Wolves look to have overtaken David Moyes’ side in the running.

The Chinese-backed Championship outfit are said to have offered an extra £500,000 for Mawson, who cost Barnsley a mere £40,000 from Brentford last summer.
Wolves got off to a slow start in the transfer market, but have recruited heavily since the completion of their takeover by Fosun International last month.
Eight new faces have arrived so far, many from overseas, with Angers’ Moroccan midfielder Romain Saiss set to become new signing number 9 after being spotted at Molineux on Tuesday, according to the Express & Star.
The report adds a new defender and striker remain on Walter Zenga’s shopping list.
