Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End could attempt to hijack Barnsley’s move for Liverpool right-back Connor Randall, a report on page 51 of Monday’s Sun newspaper claims.
Randall, who started the Reds’ 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Saturday, is poised to join the Tykes on loan as James Bree’s replacement.

But Wolves and Preston are also said to be lurking, which could put Barnsley’s bid in jeopardy.
Wolves boss Paul Lambert is a friend of Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp, having done their coaching badges together, which could perhaps sway the Reds’ thinking regarding Randall.

While Preston are long-term admirers of the 21-year-old, having been linked with a move for him last summer (Daily Mail), and the prospect of not having to relocate will likely appeal to the Kirkby native.

Randall has played just nine times at senior level, with all but one of those – while on loan to Shrewsbury Town – coming for his parent club.
