Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa have each experienced striker shortages this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa have made offers to sign Victoria Plzen striker Michal Krmenčik ahead of the January transfer window, according to Croatian media outlet, Jutarnji List.
Krmenčik has scored 14 goals in 18 appearances this season, including two in Champions League qualfiers and three in the Europa League.
With the 24-year-old’s contract up in June, interest is understandably mounting in the player, and Dinamo Zagreb are also said to interested in doing a deal.
However, it is claimed that while Wolves and Aston Villa would prefer to have Krmenčik on board for the second half of their Championship promotion campaigns, his current employers are seeking a loan back arrangement, which would keep him in Plzen until the summer.
Yet in that case, Wolves and Villa would perhaps be better off simply waiting until then and signing him for nothing, as opposed to paying the €3 million (£2.7 million) fee reportedly desired and not being able to use him.
That being said, a free Krmenčik would likely generate even greater interest, especially if he keeps up his current rate of scoring for club and country – the Czech Republic, for whom he has six goals from 11 caps.
Wolves and Aston Villa have each experienced striker shortages this season, which would explain their alleged interest in Krmenčik.
