Rangers are close to sealing a deal to sign young talent Serge Atakayi, report Finnish newspaper Österbottens.

The Mail reported in early July that Atakayi was on trial at Rangers, following up a week the youngster spent at English Premier League champions Leicester City.

Atakayi turns 18 in January and currently plays for Finnish side FF Jaro.

He is a Finnish youth international and is of Congolese descent, and could represent either country at senior level.

The early strides he has made at Jaro have marked him out as a top talent, especially when he became the youngest player to ever score in the Finnish top flight at just 16.

Atakayi is a winger who will likely initially go into Rangers’ development squad, but given his first team involvement for Jaro, it may not be too long before he is pushing for first team involvement with the Light Blues.
